The explosive Roger Waters CNN interview: Why he defends Russia & China

Roger Waters, one of the founding members of famous rock band, Pink Floyd, has shared explosive views on global politics in an interview with CNN.
The 78 year old labelled Joe Biden a war criminal, saying he’s responsible for “fuelling the fire” in the Ukraine.
“That is a huge crime. Why won’t the United States of America encourage Zelenskyy, the President, to negotiate obviating the need for this horrific, horrendous war that’s killing – we don’t know how many – Ukrainians.
“This is basically about the action and reaction of NATO pushing right up to the Russian border which they promised they wouldn’t do when Gorbachev negotiated the withdrawal of the USSR from the whole of Eastern Europe.”
In response, CNN’s Michael Smerconish questioned if America has “a role as liberators”.
“You have no role as liberators, what are you talking (about)” Waters responded.
“Don’t forget (in World War 2) 20 million Russian’s died protecting you and me from the Nazi menace.”
“Go away and read a bit more and then try to figure out what the U.S. would do if the Chinese were putting nuclear armed missiles in Mexico and Canada.”
That prompted Smerconish to quip, “The Chinese are too busy encircling Taiwan”.
An infuriated Waters then went on to defend China.
“They’re not encircling Taiwan, Taiwan is part of China and that’s been absolutely accepted by the whole of international communities since 1948 and if you don’t know that, you’re not reading enough.
“You’re believing your propaganda, your side’s propaganda.
“The Chinese didn’t invade Iraq and kill a million people in 2003, in fact, who have the Chinese invaded, murder and slaughtered?
“You should go away a read.”
