Singapore Air points can now be used for exclusive dining and shopping

Singapore — Singapore Airlines has announced a new two-way rewards partnership with CapitalLand, the owner of major shopping malls across China, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam.

This partnership will allow members of the Airline’s frequent flyer program, known as KrisFlyer, to redeem their Singapore Air points for CapitalLand’s reward points, known as CapitalStar Capital$.

According to the Airline, this will initially enable KrisFlyer members to access exclusive CapitaStar shopping and dining experiences at 16 participating CapitalLand malls and 780 partner outlets across Singapore.

It’s expected further perks and more participating CapitalLand mall locations across Asia will be made available progressively.

Conversely, CapitalStar members will also be able to exchange their points for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer rewards.

“This partnership with CapitaLand, Singapore’s largest retail operator, is part of our continuous journey to add new partners to our membership ecosystem. The travel, shopping and lifestyle rewards offered by KrisFlyer, Kris+, and CapitaStar are an excellent complement for one another. This allows us to offer a wider range of dining, retail, travel, and entertainment experiences, for both sets of members,” said Ms JoAnn Tan, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines.

KrisFlyer members are able to convert between miles and CapitalStar points via SingaporeAir.com, the SingaporeAir mobile app and the Singapore Airlines’ lifestyle app.

To promote the launch, eight members who convert between miles and CapitalLand points from 5 April to 4 May 2021 will be selected to win 100,000 KrisFlyer miles, equivalent to a round-trip Business Class ticket to Tokyo, or 1,000,000 STAR$ (equivalent to a S$1,000 CapitalStar shopping voucher).
