Li-Gang Liu to lead Citi Global Wealth’s Asia Pacific economic analysis
Li-Gang Liu, has been appointed as Managing Director, Asia Pacific Head of Economic Analysis, at Citi Global Wealth Management in Hong Kong.
The highly respected economist previously worked as Greater China Chief Economist for Citi Research, a role he held since 2016.
Prior to joining Citi Group, Li-Gang Liu worked in a number of other high-profile roles, including Greater China Chief Economist at Australia’s ANZ Bank, along with senior research roles at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Asian Development Bank Institute, and the World Bank in Washington D.C.
In his new role, Li-Gang Liu will report to Steven Wieting, Chief Investment Strategist and Chief Economist for CGWM, and Roger Bacon, Asia Pacific Head of CGWM APAC Ultra High Net Worth Business.
Key responsibilities will include providing thought leadership and analysis of the Asia Pacific region’s key economies and particularly in-depth economic analysis pertaining to China and its future influence on the world.
Li-Gang Liu has a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.
